The World Chinese Urological Society (WCUS) holds its annual meeting during the AUA and this year will meet at that AUA 2019 on Friday, May 3 (8:00a.m.-4:00 p.m., at the M194, West Building, McCormick Place) in Chicago, Illinois.
Since 2006, each year, urological societies from China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Macau, North America, Europe, Australia, and Thailand together with urologists and scientists provide tremendous support to the WCUS meeting. Over the past thirteen years, innumerable colleagues have volunteered their time and expertise to select topics that reflect cutting-edge progress in both urology in general and in Chinese urological communities in particular. In addition, each regional society helps to select speakers and moderators to represent their respective society. There were more than 400 attendees at last year’s WCUS 2018 meeting held in San Francisco, California. At the upcoming annual WCUS meeting in Chicago we expect an even larger turnout as there are more than 10,000 urologists of Chinese decent in the world, many of whom are increasingly active in the proceedings of the AUA.
This year, with the leadership of Prof. Tom F. Lue from University of California and Prof. Run Wang from the University of Texas, the Scientific Program Committee of the WCUS has prepared an exciting agenda that covers advancements in andrology, benign prostatic hyperplasia, lower urinary tract symptoms, incontinence, oncology, and endourology, to name a few, in addition to the special program (rising stars in World Chinese Urology). All speakers and moderators are recommended by their regional societies from such locations as Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, China, Europe, Australia and the USA.
The WCUS 2019 meeting will have 10 sessions and will include the Madam Lo Chiang Lai-Ching Memorial Lecture. Experts from China, Taiwan, Singapore, Hong Kong, Turkey, and United States will review evidence-based information and their experiences regarding the prevalence, risk factors, etiology, treatment and innovative surgical techniques related to andrology, benign prostatic hyperplasia, oncology and endourology. In addition, basic urologic research lectures will be presented by top scientists from all regional societies. Again, our annual award ceremony will recognize those who have contributed greatly to urology.
This year, we will have Lunch symposium supported by Beijing Wanbo Medical Devices Co. LTD, and have a lecture focus on the application of Low-intensity pulsed ultrasound for erectile dysfunction, a very novel technology just launched in Andrology. To expand the relationship with international urology society, we will have International Exchanging with Session with Turkish Urological Association. By attending the annual WCUS meeting at AUA, members from WCUS will have the remarkable opportunity to share the advancements in basic and clinical research in urology with the AUA members from all parts of the world.
This year we have incorporated plenty of time for discussion after each presentation in order to encourage audience participation. We welcome all AUA participants to attend our meeting and to meet our distinguished members at the WCUS 2019. For more information, please refer to our website:www.aua-wcus.org. More informaiton could be found at AUA website: https://www.eventscribe.com/2019/AUA2019/agenda.asp?pfp=International.
Please join the WCUS at the AUA!
